Honolulu’s Salon Blanc, which opened a LemonTea cafe at Pearlridge shopping Center in Central Oahu last year, has opened its second such cafe inside its hair salon, becoming one of the first of its kind to have such a concept in its establishment.
Hair stylist Alan “V” — for Vuong — and his wife, Michelle “V,” told PBN they had always planned to open a LemonTea cafe at their 1,500-square-foot salon at the Hokua condominium near Ward Village in Honolulu.
Hair stylist Alan "V" — for Vuong, owner of Salon Blanc in Honolulu, samples one of his custom drinks at his LemonTea kiosk in Pearlridge Center Uptown II in this file photo. He has opened a second location at his salon.
The cafe, which is not only for its salon customers but the general public as well, has recently received its “Green” placard from the state Department of Health, the top-rated placard that a restaurant can attain.
The Vuong’s LemonTea concept is nothing like the Bubble Tea or Milk Tea craze that’s currently hitting Honolulu. Instead, their concept specializes in lemonades and teas based on drinks inspired by their childhood memories, including a white Gummy Bear lemonade, the pink Starburst lemonade, the Sour Patch Kids lemonade and “Skyler’s Special,” which is their son’s favorite lemonade.
Their first location was a LemonTea kiosk in Pearlridge Uptown near Goma Tei.
Alan noted that he already is looking to open a third location, although nothing has been finalized just yet.
Salon Blanc, known by some as the “Celebrity Salon,” has been open at Hokua for about eight years.
